
WANA: Mehsud tribal jirga has stepped up efforts for the swapping of bodies, following deaths of 25 Taliban and martyrdom of 6 security personnel during yesterday’s skirmishes in South Waziristan.
Clashes at Tayarza and Spinkai Raghzai yesterday had culminated into the death of 25 militants including commander Miraj Burki, who is said to be the Kanigarm commander of Baitullah Mehsud Group.
ISPR said that four security personnel have gone missing also. Following the incident, Mehsud tribal jirga has stepped up its efforts for the swapping of corpses and it is likely that after talks with the parties involved, the bodies could be swapped today.
On the other hand, Mehsud tribesmen of South Waziristan’s areas Makeen, Kotkai, Spinkai, Raghzai, Ladha, Sararogha and other adjoining areas are seen shifting to North Waziristan, Bannu, Tank, and Dera Ismail Khan due to tense prevalent situation.
